My car is about to go in the body shop in a week or two for paint but someone hit my passenger side door on my 87 ttop gt. (hit and run  ) These doors are hard to come by, but a found a 1987 gt convertible door, will this work and bolt right up? I remember hearing somewhere that it would work but i would need to put the glass out of my door into the convert door to make it work. Does anyone know?

thanks

I swapped 87 vert doors on to my 86 T-top car. I swapped all my internals over to the vert doors so my windows would fit.

The 87 vert door will fit but, glass is different. Is you mirror by the A-pillar or on the door skin itself. As long as the mirrors are in the same spot on both doors you will be fine. Just swap the T-top internals over to the vert doors. Want to say in mid 87 they swapped the mirrors to the door skin itself like the 88 & up verts.

The vert door will fit but the glass won't roll all the way up. And if you adjust the stops inside the door so it does, then it won't roll all the way down. Trust me, I've tried that, when swapping the 87 vert doors onto my 86.

thanks and yes, mike86 the mirrors are in the same spot on both doors (a-piller). Was swapping the internals over to the convertable door hard to do? were yours power or manual windows?
