So im trying to get everything i need together to embark on my 1st convertible frame and top replacement on my 89 fox. My frame right now is broken and does not for properly due to a shotty repair by the pervious owner. I bought a complete frame on craigs list that looks perfect, even the latches are perfect. Now heres where i come into some questions. The listing said it was from a 91. From what iv read they should bolt right into an 89 and be an actual improvement from the old design. Are there any features i can see on the frame to verify the style frame i have? Iv noticed while searching for new tops that the 90-93 are different from the rest and id hate to spend the money and get the wrong top. The top I have currently looks like it was an amature install, but it does have a glass window which i would like to re-use. Do they just unzip and zip to the new top? Also to anyone who has done this before, are there any special tools im going to need to attach this top to the frame. I could also use some direction on a quality top, every site says they have the best. Any install tips, tricks or things to watch out for would also be appreciated .
