OK I am stumped. This is my first convertible. 1995. I have a Qa1 K-member I purchased for a 1995 "coupe" about 3 years ago. That car was wrecked and totaled by a stupid deer. I went to a 1999 but was unhappy. Now I have a 95 again, with a 351 W that came in the car. The engine was slapped together and the car was abused. I am restoring the car using the 351W. I pulled the engine, removed the X brace you see in the picture, and removed the OEM K-member. No problem placing the new Qa1 tubular member under the car. Problem is that the brace you see here has no way to bolt onto the Qa1 K member. Do I need this brace? Is this a factory brace? It sure looks like it was made for the car. If you have a vert, do you have this? What has anyone done in a situation like this? Please help...................

My car came from the factory with that brace on it, I don't like it now that my car is lowered. The brace likes to smack the road once in a while on hard bumps or dips.

I had it, but it's sitting in my garage collecting dust since I too couldn't use it with my PA Racing tubular K member. I make sure I run a strut tower brace now though.

I haven't had that on my car for over three years.

I hate that brace, it was a PITA to take-off and put-back on to do a header swap. But I drove without it for about 3 weeks before I put it back on, and didn't notice any difference in handling with or without it. I'm sure it has saved my oil pan a few times though. But leave it off, you'll be fine.
