So I daily an 87 convertible that’s dang near straight piped. The sound deadening is so bad I can have a perfect conversation with someone outside of my car with the windows and top up. I plan on doing a lot to freshen up the car (and I plan on installing a Hellion single turbo kit (I know it’s a bad idea)) soon, and while I’m redoing the interior I want to get the absolute best sound deadening I can. I am probably going to get a quieter exhaust, but I need to know what I can do with the top (I plan on getting a new top) and other bits of interior to deaden the sound as much as possible.

Side note: what exhaust systems would you recommend to still get a good sound without waking the dead in the process?

Most of the work will be getting the windows and top to seal correctly. After that it’s putting the headliner in and then normal sound proofing in the doors and floors
