Just curious ... wouldn't one be able to just screw the J-hooks out a little bit to take up the extra distance, if it's not too far? I have a heck of a time getting my top close enough to latch closed again - obviously, much harder at night when the top gets cold and shrinks, like last Sunday - but would it hurt to screw the J-hooks out a few turns to make up for the greater distance as the top begins to shrink over time? Of course, not so much that the hooks only have a thread or two holding them in, and not so much that there's a huge gap between the top and windshield frame when fully closed, but still ... something worth trying, in lieu of him taking it to a shop?

And about bleeding the air out of the system ... anyone know the specifics? Disconnect a line nearest the motor and run it a bit? Or just fill, run it, refill, run it again, until the air burps itself out?

Yeah, clear fluid, same as mine. Smells vaguely like cat pee, or something. Hydraulic jack fluid, usually found in the section with all the floor jacks and stuff at Autozone n' stuff. On second thought, unless there's a real benefit to using ATF, instead, maybe I should stick with the hydraulic fluid, myself...? (Might be cheaper, anyway.)
