Convertible Top Operation

I have a 94 GT in which the top will not go down. When i pull up the emergency brake as required the indicator light on the dash does not glow anylonger either.

There must be a switch activated from the emergency brake that has gone out.

Does anyone know where that switch might be.

All fuses are ok.

Yes, there is a switch on the parking brake lever itself that closes the circuit and turns the dash light on as well as allows power to the top motor when the lever is pulled. The switch can sometimes get out of alignment with the lever or the contacts can get dirty and stop working. You need to take the console out to get to it, but its not too much work.
