I have a 95 gt convertible and the top will only go down if i turn the key farther ahead. The ignition was really sloppy so I changed it out and am still having the same problems. Is there any way to fix this or rewire the switch so i dont have to play with the Ignition to get it to work.

Not sure but did you check the E-brake circuit. You have to have the E-brake up and active to raise the top.

Just so there is no misunderstanding of the problem, do the other accessories turn on okay with the key in the run position. Radio, heater fan, etc. The circuit for the top should be switched on at the same time. However, there is an intermediate switch tied into the e-brake and I'm wondering if that is where the problem rests. You'll need to remove the console for access but that's straight forward.

yeah everything works but the top. I will have to look into the e-brake sensor it was on but sometimes it flickers a little bit. That could possibly be the problem i have a look tommorow and let you guys know. Thanks for the input.
