two years ago changed my heater core all was good... reently put a new motor in 347,,niceee,, no more a/c junked it... ran fine for three months one night i saw a poof of white smoke from right passneegr side.. said to myself prolly valve cover leak oil on headers..tightened cover... suddenly smelled thattt smell, syrup...fu@k!!! getting lil vapor out od vents again,,damn,,, but ths weir dpart is the two ports in the firewall that were for the a/c ,,they were fine after the new motor install, but now the bottom one alll the way towards the back of the passeenger side header...well it just dumps coolant out of it sometimes... not alot alot but enough to make a pooof of white smoke and make my look like a ******* on the road,,.... it shoots it right onto the red hot header too so its like a smoke show,, i have no clue why its dumping it out of that port now when it was good all four months after motor install?? any advice guys thanks this blows i dont wanna ahve to have that core changed again,,if i gotta this time im doing it myself i cant part with that cash man...

i tried plugging it... but i coudlnt find anything ample to fit over it so i stuck well a pcv valve an angled one into it just becuase i was frustrated and it was driving me nuts,,,, and it stll even come sout of that and right now i have it poitned up so there gotta be some pressure buildin in there to make it shoot out,, ive never visually seen it squirt or pour out,, im just a spectator for "the smoke show"

its the heater core, plugging it will only make it leak into the car, thats not a fix its a half ass cover up, Dont take advice like that, unfortunately your going to have to pull the dash and replace it. I have to do mine as well, no they arent fun, but you can do it

well do you have the restrictor in line of the heater core hose? IF not then, most likely when you put the new engine in. YOu were gettin on the car more often and harder, thus the pressure in the lines are too high for the heater core to handle and that causes them to leak, you have to have a restrictor in the core line to slow down the water going into the core.

Are you saying that it is coming from the weep hole beneath the heater core itself?

if u look at ure stang there is a port on the firewall basically like 4 inches above the header on the passenger side... the firewall comes to a point in this location due to the fact of the tranny housing.. its this port that is leaking,,, is it me needing a restrictor like ive heard,,, i mean i was definitly getting on the car ...

If it is coming from that weep hole, then it is your heater core that is bad. That is a leak hole for when the heater core is leaking so it doesn't go into your car.

ima make an attempt to do this myself,, any1 have some helpful links... i have heard dat sometimes u can cut open the box behidn the glove box to gain ccess to the core without removing the wholeeee dash like just loosening the passenger side n driver side n pulling it back slightly to gain enough room around where you cut the box so u can get the core out,,, andddd should i use a flow restrictor???

thanks man,, im tryin to dcide wetehr or not to do the mega job or the hack job,lol but i mena i wouldnt leave the hack job,,welll,,hacked,, id use a piece of lexan caulk up the borders and rescrew it to cover the hole i make in the box,, i mean with the calk and it screwed down that would solve any future leak issues from becoming a wet carpet issue wouldnt it???

It would probably not leak in your car, but it really isn't that hard to get it out of the box. Okay it is pretty darn hard to get it out, and would be way easier way if you cut the box, just make sure you put the original piece back on the box!
