i have just taken the upper cobra intake off of my car and i was wondering if anyone knows if the cobra's use the coolant lines that run through the EGR system. i was also looking at a 93 cobra in the latest MM&FF and i saw that on that car the same coolant lines were plugged up. i am putting an edelbrock upper and lower on and i am wondering if it is absolutly neccesary to run the coolant lines to the EGR plate. any help is greatly appreciated

its not necessary to run the lines through the EGR spacer (on your ebrock), but they actually help more than they hurt as they cool the exhaust gases flowing through the spacer from the EGR...

on a cobra intake there is no provision for antifreeze to flow through, so the solution is to plug the coolant pipe and the rear of the lower intake to accomodate this. If you have deep pockets you can purchase the correct 93 cobra intake coolant tube.. but its tough to find.

Thanks for the compliment!

If you look at the rear of the lower, drivers side, there is a threaded hole that the fitting will go to. Your cobra might have had it blocked off, as I did to mine. FInd a stock intake and you will see a fitting that goes in which has a hose barb on it.. the hose goes to that..

or.. if you mean the other way around get a plug for it if you dont want to run the line. If worst comes to worst, youcan just run a piece of steel brake line from one hose to the other, so the coolant still recirculates but doesnt pass through the EGR spacer. It pretty much depends on what you have to work with for now.
