Cop Motor tear down....

I am currently tearing down the motor from a police interceptor, and I'm not sure what year the motor is? Here is the serial number to the right side head of the motor, can someone verify if this is P.I. On top it says....

29...S73

RF-F5AE-6090-B22A

We are almost down to the block me and "281CI96coupe", where should we send this block to get ACID bath...
Oh yeah know any good machine shops as well?

Not a PI engine...sorry. It could be any year from 1995-2000

For the non-PI years, the police motors are rated the same as standard vic motors...200HP 275 TQ

WHen they went PI, the Police cars got a slight bump over the standard crown vic. I beleive for a few years (2001-2004) or so they were rated the same 232HP as the civilian vic and then got a bump to 250HP for the police model only.

that always make me think of some old ass drunk redneck. "that there truck has a police car motor in it" or here is another great one "i swapped a corvette engine into my old pickup and it is faster than greased lightening!"

not saying you fall into that category. but honestly, when was the last time you saw a FAST cop car?? i'd absolutely love to give any "police interceptor" a run down the highway!!

anyways, arent there some differences in the early 4.6 blocks??

The motor is currently being stripped down to the block only, my friend just wanted to know if it was Peformance Improved P.I or not. We had high hopes for it being P.I but that wont put a damper on us, we can find P.I heads around for a good price. Overall, can someone post a link to where it show if its a windor/romeo block. Thanks.

Let's Clear a Few Things Up

First of all, I'm using the block - that's it. I'm going all forged internals, and a Vortech Centrifugal blower (not sure which one yet). And obviously nobody has to tell me how slow they are, I've had my share of runs with cops in a stock '96 GT. Second, to the guy who doesn't like how I worded my post - grow up, seriously. Was that necessary? It's an engine from a Police Interceptor Crown Vic. Who drive's those? Cops! - or no, I'm sorry - "Police Officers."

If you are going to use ONLY the block, sell that motor and buy a 93-98 Lincoln Mark 8 motor.

It's an aluminum Teksid block than can handle up to 1000HP. I beleive it will also accept SOHC components so it doesn't necessarily need to be DOHC. You could sell off some of the DOHC stuff and possible break even to get the AL block.

Romeo.

Windsors were in trucks and 99-00 Mustangs and had 8 bolt cranks. Romeos had 6 bolt cranks.

F5AE heads were used in 1994 too.

The side facing TB means it was from a 96+.

Nate brand new PI cylinder heads can be found for 350-375.00 each.

Good info... Good Info... The block in the Mark 8 is actually identical to the Cobra block (same block I think) but for what I'm going to do this block will hold strong.
More importantly though, can someone tell me where there's a good machine shop that I can send the block to? I need a reputable shop to acid bath, resurface and possibly powder coat the block before I stard building the bottom end. Even if it's not a local shop I'll ship the block out if need be.

ALSO, I'm pretty sure about what cams I want and what heads and intake manifold I'm going with but if anybody has suggestions about what brand and type of forged rotating assembly (Crank, rods, pistons and rings) I should go with, I'm open to suggestions and advice.
