ok i just ripped off the pass. kickpanel to reveal a huge mess of hacked up wiring..... I copied all the numbers off of the computer an this is what i got: eeciv 5fi-ma12 e9zf-12a650-a2a 605m12af01 17884-544 0a17
i called ford an they said that it is the right computer for the application. A 1990 lx 5.0 with a 5 spd, but on my door jam there is a sticker that says a9l 0a18. This leads me to believe that the computer that is in it isnt the orignal, but i dont know. There is no rev limiter. A bunch of the wires are spliced into and a few have those little crimp on connectors. Then i started to trace a few of the to the back of the dash, and found some loose connectors with nothing in sight that they can connect too. Im so totally lost.... I just wanted to find the wires for the 02's to try to measure the voltage.... Does anyone know what all the numbers mean???? Is there anyway i can find out by the vin number or somethin???

Automatic ECM

It's possible that somebody put an automatic computer in your car- it will work. Back in the day there were people that modified the stock computers. Usually they would change the fuel, spark, and remove the rev limiter. I have never seen this done on a mass air car but I guess anything is possible.

Yes you can run a automatic A9L with a manual transmisson.

I think A9L is manual though?

ok well then let me ask you this: everyone on here talks about these low coolant, e brake, etc... lights that are on the instrument cluster. in all the times i've had my ebrake on nuttin.... I've heard that the c.e.l. is suppose to come on when you disconnect the 02's an when i do nuttin.... Now i have this beeping noise that i cant find along with my rear defroster not working. After i pulled the kick panel off the trunk lid button in the glove box just magicaly started to work!!! I dont know!!!! Anybody have a wiring diagram of the whole car??? Cause the one in my haynes doesnt do nuttin for me! im startin to think this thing is possesed(or how ever you spell it) by something.....

You could get a 1990 wiring diagram book for your entire car for 33 bucks kinda expensive but it gives you diagrams for entire car. Here's the link.
