I came apon someone that got nailed and totaled their car. So he was parting everything out. I ended up getting a complete 5 speed swap for $500. I got everything except the computer. He wanted to sell it with the motor, so I am trying to work out a deal that he can have the one out of my car. That way I can have the right computer for a 5 speed and not an auto.

What a sweet deal.

Anyoe know what's a good clutch setup?????

Thanks
Vic

congrats on the good deal, but i wouldn't trade motors. you have no idea what kind of care it has had. i would get everything you can out of it then get the rest from the classifieds or a junk yard. the parts you need are the cheaper ones.

I'm not going to switch motors. I am trying to get just computer off him. He wanted to sell it with the motor. So I am trying to work it as I give him some money and the computer out of my car.

As far as I know, I got everything needed to do the swap. I got complete tranny, cable , pedals, crossmember, flywheel, shift fork, shifter, even the old clutch but i'm not using it.

i'll pass on the centerforce clutch's. Everyone I know that has had those clutch's have had them fail on them. I had 2 of them fail on me when I had my trans am. 1 of them actually blew apart and went throught the bell housing and put a huge dent in the floorboard on my trans am.

I was looking at the King Cobra clutch's. which one is the on to go with??? There's 2 diff set-up's. Ford racing makes one and Ram makes one???

if that is all you got you are missing some stuff.....the complete list is:

transmission
bellhousing
crossmember
clutch fork
flywheel
clutch disc
pressure plate
pilot bearing
throwout bering
shifter
shift boot
inner shift boot
shift knob
pedal assembly
wiring harness
eec

you will also need to either replace your radiator with one from a 5spd or cap the ports where the tranny fluid passes through the drivers side end tank.
