before you all yell at me, yes ive searched and read up about this and i know how tough this install is going to be and i know what tools to use..i just had a few questions of my own

should i reuse the stock header bolts or get new ones? the car just hit 68K miles..i know there are locking ones but should i get them or just buy new stock ones or just leave mine alone... they look pretty good to me..

also, how possible of an install is this without dropping the k member and not using a lift? i don't have a lift nor do i have a way of obtaining a lift and i really don't trust holding the motor by the jack with a 2X4 being placed under the oil pan and a 2x4 + 4X4 holding the engine up as indicated in this thread:

is there anyway to do this with the k member still attached? i am going to try and start this install next week(weather permmitting) and i have about a month and a half to do this.. i figure 2 full days and i should be either done or close to it after the second day...

other than taking it to the shop and paying like 500 or whatever it will cost to have this done, what would you reccomend? thanks guys

I dont know if you can use the stock bolts or not, I used the stage 8 kit. Also I put my motor back in the car and installed the long tubes in about 8-12 hours bye myself. I was a fight and I got mad and cussed, but it worked. It is possible, but a pain in the butt.I would be faster to drop the k-member.

would it be possible to have he car sitting in jack stands, then place the jack underneath the center of the k member(where you put it to jack the car up to change the oil) and leave the motor bolted to the k member, unbolt the k member, and lower the k memeber down and install the headers? cause then i could just raise the motor back into the engine bay with the headers installed correct?

I did mine with 4 jack stands and two hydraulic jacks. I installed a dfx centerforce clutch, pressure plate, MAC LT headers and QA1 K-member all at once. I did it all by myself, no help so it is doable! See pic.

There's ALOT of room now to maneuver up under there. I can easily reach behind the starter for simple removal plus clean access to all my stage 8 header bolts. The biggest payoff was weight reduction up front.

As soon as I get my tax refund I'm selling off the eibach springs and installing coilovers, tubular control arms and new struts.

posted via Mobile Device well will it be possible for me to leave the engine bolted to the k member and unbolt the k member and lower it down and install the headers and raise it all back into place?
