Cowl hood

Anyone put a cowl induction hood on their 05? I know steeda makes one are there any others?

Take out that big ole plastic thingie from the back of the stock one and it is a shortie cowl

Ummmm, no. That cowl cover is just covering the cowl but I suppose you could remove it so you could air out your wiper motor.

To me cowl induction has G.M. written all over it. Goes with a Ford like sequential tails on a 'vette.
I think the shakers the way to go and saving my coin...

I'm going with the Steeda hood. It looks to be about a 1.5"-2" Cowl.

Before you spend the money on a hood like that - I would mock up the cowl in the height you are thinking (using cardboard) and see if you can see well enough to navigate with it. I know of more than one person that is selling cowl hoods (not for S197's) because it's just too tall. One of them is an avid autocrosser - he said that he had eaten more pylons in a single event than he did for 5 previous years altogether..

Something to think about anyways..
