cowl panel

does anyone sell the cowl panel itself, not the drain panel patches, the actual part that welds in behind/above the hood? Mine is shot, the sides are all rusted out and i can't seem to find a patch, even at california mustang.

No, you have to cut one out of a wreck.

What year car do you have? My 69 unbolted from the car. Not sure when they made the transition from welded on to bolt on. Anyhow at least the bolt on you should be able to easily buy from some of the large Mustang salvage yards.

Just a little bit of work involved there. A friend of mine just did the cowl on his 65', said he had 130 spot welds to drill out. Sounds dreadful.

I had the same problem with my '65, the bottom inch or two on the top cowl piece was destroyed. I bent and butt welded patches from steel sheet. It takes alot of time, and the many small pieces have to be fit like a jigsaw puzzle. But if done carefully, the results will look factory.
