crack block?

Is it normal to have a stress crack between water jacket and top head bolt on the block?Their is line between their,I just got the block back from the machine shop.Thanks

had an 84 block that was like that. the bolt hole about 1/2" down was cracked. you got a pic of the block by chance?

But I do got pic but cant see it that good very tiny

some people may say a small hairline crack is ok, but i wouldnt chance it. it would be safer to get another block.

No, it's not normal. I'd take it back to the machine shop. Was the block magnafluxed?

Not normal and most likely it will only spread...
