Anyone ever try to fix cracked head light baskets? Are they Cast metal? I have a few minor cracks in mine ('66) and thought I would try fixing them before replacing them.
I actually thought about using the two-part putty that dries hard-as-steel when it is kneaded together and formed into different shapes to repair different things. After I had the idea to try this I heard about a repair kit for the fender extension / headlight bucket tabs. I just haven't gotten to it so far.
I talked to a couple guys that suggested just using the JB Weld. The pieces that come with that repair kit aren't the areas I need to repair. I made a couple small brackets for the back of them for a little extra strength. I think It will be fine as the area's aren't structural to to mounting of the buckets. If not, i'll buy some new ones.
