tight enough that you apparently need an impact gun it a manual? because you could put it in gear, with the e-brake up.. but since you would have thought of that i guess its an auto..

It's always the toughest if it's never been removed. You'll get it...like Joe said switch to 1/2 drive.....step back and take a breather and a cold one and jump in again.

I've heard of guys putting the socket on the breaker bar on the crank bolt and wedging it in by the frame, and then blipping the starter to torque the bolt loose... but I wouldn't recommend it, haha.

Make sure you don't use the bolt to install the HB. Buy the remover/install kit.

This was standard practice to get the CS bolt off on the 95 Taurus SHO 3.2 we used to have (automatic, so no way to hold it). But I wouldn't do it on a Fox. On my 89 GT I had to pull my radiator and get a rather large electric impact gun right on the bolt. Popped off pretty easy with a few pulls of the trigger.

I've done it twice, had no problems bumping it loose with a 3/4" rachet and breaker bar in the parking lot at work. The balancer busted just as I was pulling into the parking lot. Had my wife bring my tools and stuff, swapped the balancer out in about an hour or so. Sure beat a $150 tow bill.

I have about an 18-20" long 1/2" drive breaker bar. That bolt was my bitch on the first try.

Get a 1/2 drive a breaker bar and a handle to a floor jack or a good pipe to a extra leverage it will come loose if you put enough a$$ into it.
