Hello to all! just sign up and looking for some help!
Just bought a 1994 Mustang that is in mint shape. unfortunatly its been stored for the last 15 years! got it up and running and its amazingly tight. I am in need of an intermediate steering shaft. ( well really only need the steady bearing ) for what ever reason the rubber steading bearing at the fire wall pull out of its metal housing that bolts to the firewall. Would anyone have any idea where I could find that. ford has long discontinued that part. no luck at , CJ Pony, MUSTANG DEPOT, THE MUSTANG SHOP and even tried AMAZON. any help at all would be, appreciated. I'm in Canada if that helps.

For the rubber (with steel shell) bushing at the firewall, I used the bushing from a 2005 mustang and the original 1994 shell. The 05 steel shell was just slightly different but the bushing appears to be the same. If yours popped out due to being loose… you may be able to reinsert it. Otherwise it was not too difficult. While doing this, the steering shaft from max motorsport will do wonders for your car. Check with Mps, Blue oval specialty or Ebay.

Funny I thought of trying to just put it back inplace but then I wondered why it poped out in the first place. You mentioned Mps????

MPS Mustang Auto Salvage/Mustang Parts Specialist. There are 2 nuts securing the bushing to firewall. You will need to collapse steering shaft under dash to remove bushing. DO NOT TURN STEERING WHEEL ONCE DISCONNECTED FROM SHAFT OR YOU CAN DAMAGE RIBBON IN STEERING WHEEL. Then reposition or replace bushing into clam shell and reattach to firewall. There should be a couple of videos on you tube. May want to add some grease to bearing located in bushing.
