I dont have a socket big enough to turn the crank. Anyone know what size I need to buy. I know its a tad smaller then 1 in. I hate to buy 3 and have to return 2. Just doing a valve adjustment. thanks

i thought it was 15/16 too. i seem to recall using an SAE socket (I think). are you sure there are no burrs on the bolt, which are keeping the socket from goin on?
if someone (not you) was rotating the motor and too lazy to use the right sized socket (using a 1" or 25mm, etc) they might have rounded the bolt edges a bit.
just like us, sometimes the tools want to rest - they choose to not fit or fight you when this happens (sometimes they will run away, so you cant find them).
