crank question

can someone tell me if a 5.0 crank from Autozone, NAPA, or Advance would be as strong as a stock crank (turned)

and what would be the best brand of rod & main bearing and rings to buy(stock bore)

The Ford crank is a cast piece, and I would THINK the reman. from the parts store would be on part with it. Have it mic'd to check the dimensions anyways. Their clevite bearings will work fine for you, and aren't too much change either.

Clevite P series bearings is what you want, most local parts stores carry Speed Pro (Federal Mogul) which will work just fine also.
