Wheres JRichker!!
Hi All,
I went through the Cranks No Start EFI check list and I am a loss.
Plus, I made things worse by convincing myself it was the TFI. Went and bought one and of course same problem.
I have spark at the plus, I have fuel pressure 38psi, I have injectors pulse see below. And, I just started checking the compression and so far # 1 and #2 are at 90psi on a cold start. and this is the latest:
I removed the upper intake and checked the injectors by placing the injector in soapy water, putting compressed air where the fuel rail would go, and twisitng the distributor ala JRichker.. All injectors made bubbles except #5-and I replaced it with a new one. The new did make ALOT more bubbles than the other ones though.
I have started checking the cylinder compression and so far #1 and #2 are at 90psi w/ cold start
I dont know WTF is going on with this engine. Fuel rails are clear, fuel pressure is 38-39psi, injectors pulsing, I have stabbed the distributor as per Joel5.0's and Richkers directions (followed green line, not the red 1 tooth retard)
any ideas?
Can there be sometbing so stupidly simple (cause Im kinda stupid that Im missing?
Could the vaccum lines on my intake, if not routed orrectly, cause it not to start?
Could the injectors be so shot that they are almost dead, like #5 I pulled. And, there just not letting enough fuel through to ignite?
my set up
1989 block, e303 cam, gt40p heads, 1996 explorer upper/lower, frpp shorty headersa, no cats.
Ive seen some posts where people say to retard the timing with P heads and some say you should advamnce timing with e303 cam.
Ive indexed the distributor and placed the tfi at 90 degrees to the radiator, 45 degres , as parraelell as it can go etc.
