I need to install a double hump crossmember on my 79, as it has the older narrow style.

What is the easiest way to do this?

I'm thinking just fab a new rear bracket and cut the originals off.

Is there an easier way?

I am installing new exhaust and an AOD that needs the trans bolt holes further to the rear.

Thanks.

is the crossmember tack welded on the two tubes that go inbetween the mounts already. I just put a c-4 in my 85 and i had to grind the tac welds off then scoot the crossmember all the way forward then tack the cross member on the tubes again. I dont know if you have tried that or not but if you have then you have to cut the mounts and move them back.
