Cruise Control

In my 2001 GT I have cruise but no light on the dash to tell me it's on. I've never had another vehicle without an indicator. Did Ford just miss this or am I missing it's location?

This is no indication light on mine either, but when set it works in my vehicle and there is no spot on the dash for CC light to be anyways.

i think it would be sweet if we had a gas light too.. i never knew we didnt have CC lights.. I have alot of burnt out bulbs..

There is no CC light on our cars for some odd reason You just have to feel for it when the gas pedal sticks

Same here, my dad's ranger has one but I don't Mustangs don't need them anyways

Hmm I thought we had a cruize control light

We do have a low fuel light though....check your lower gauge cluster you should be able to see it in teh right light.

Yeah, we do have a fuel light, just saw it the other day But no CC light to be seen on our cars

My low fuel light must be burnt out or something because I was driving one day and looked down and the needle was burried on E. I some how made it to the gas station and the car died right when I pulled up to the pump.

I felt like Kramer from Seinfeld when he test drove the car to see how far it would go with no gas. LOL

Man I hope that was with the stock fuel pump! The higherflowing ones really hate heat and doing that will get them REALLY hot....not good for the life of the pumps at all

It was with my old Focus pump, it only happened that one time and now Im always checking to see where Im at on gas.

Does anyone know how you can add an indicator light for the cruise control? I am puting a MOMO wheel in the car and relocating the cruise control buttons to a new panel. I want to set it up so that the illuminated buttons I am using to replace the stock ones will only be lit when the system is on.

Just quessing, but the curise control is an option. In addition, a CC light would need a wire path between the cruise control module and the cluster.

Perhaps Ford figured that the average Mustang driver was "in tune" with their car such that a dash light to confirm cruse control activativation was over kill.

I reviewed the wiring diagrams and can not see an available wire path to tap that could be adapted to turn on a cruise control light. I am positive there is a location on the PC board that could be tapped to provide the signal.

Are you up to modifying the cruise control module? If so, I am sure it would make a great post.

O.k. since you doubt, I guess I'm wrong.
TPS's are known to go bad on the 4.6 mod engine. The sensor puts out a digital signal, the cruise control keeps that digital signal constant, if you look at a oscilloscope, you would notice a constant digital signal, almost like a flat line, These sensors weren't made to stay that way for hours on end, at one voltage. (Kind of a catch 22 situation if you car has cruise control)l. Thats why it is a digital signal instead of an analog signal. Symptoms of bad TPS's, Sticking RPMs, upon hard acceleration the Sensor will flat line like it was analog then fly up in RPMs. Same w/deceleration.
