Can you buff out curb rash on a Cobra R silver finish ? Need your opinions.

I let my 21 year old son drive my car today. I had it backed in to the parking space with the tires slightly cut to the right about 4 inches out from the curb.

Anyway he cuts to the right as we pull out and catches the front rim and nitto. I looked at him, and he says I didn't hit it hard. So I kept my cool, and when he got home sure enough he hit the rim in 2 places, but not too deep.

If you do the stupid, you kick yourself, and you save your money and by another rim. All he said I'm sorry, but it sounded like no big deal get over it.

If it had been me I would have offered to replace or repair it. He told my wife that I had the wheels cut into the curb, like it was my fault.

If he asked to drive again, I'll let him know that when he learns how to repect others property and drive I'll think about it......... and say no.

i agree, until he can be responsible, dont let him. My dad trusts me with my car and his car, and my car is faster lol. Sorry about that, hopefully you can buff it out, and have a cheap fix. Why not beat his ass? Ground him or something...

wytstang - good article thanks for the link. I can get some paint thru 5.0 Restoration for cheap. I may give it a try, or just leave it. I'm always short on time.

matthiasj - the best teacher is experience. Sooner or later it will happen to him, then he'll learn from it.

Thanks, Dewman
