I went around a corner and hit some rocks tonight. To make a long story short I hit a curb and this is the result. I gotta get it fixed, but all the suspension products in the world don't do any good when you hit rocks.

I saw a couple of places that would fix it for around $150.00 or so. A new rim would cost $380.00...

Sorry to see that. Could be fixed but I am never one to trust wheels fixes ... especially if that is aluminum.

OT - What kind of brakes are you running?

Right. Once you bend an alloy wheel, it's pretty much toast. If you were to bend the wheel back into shape, it would lose a lot of it's strength in that area and be an accident waiting to happen. I wouldn't trust it.

Just wait until you get home and the wife finds out she'll never let you leave Germany again without her supervision.

No offense man but i was just thinking the other day how it is that so many people curb their wheels. Seems like i never can get a used set of wheels without at least one of them having a good amount of rash on it. I'm so paranoid around curbs that i don't even go through drive throughs that have curbs in them because i know the 'stang doesn't have the greatest turning radius. I guess that's what makes it an accident.

There is a place in Pensacola that is going to fix it on Monday for around $100.00. I have talked to a few people that have seen and had a few fixed and have said you can't even tell the difference. It goes back into storage on the 21st of July, so if I need to replace the wheel later I can. I just don't have the time or $400.00 to drop on a new wheel at the moment. "Operation Chrome Engine Bay" begins when my car gets hauled to Corpus Christi, TX, on the 21st of this month.
