The casting on the port themselves is pretty thin between the ports, and the bolts for the upper protrude into the one big opening coming to the plenum like the pushrod holes in the e7's do. i was just wondering, i had though previously of trying to port out the stock stuff some more. After tonight i don't think that will be an option. So since i started at our local speed shop part time. I will have an edelbrock performer on order monday. I am tired or trying to make power cheap and getting outrun!!! Since i cut the intake though, i thought some poeple might be curious as i was to see what the inside of the ports etc. looks like.

oh and if you are wondering that 2nd pic is the center runner in the intake
you can see where the bolts are if you look closely

Gut that thing out like they do on the 2.3 intakes. That and a TMOSS lower?????? Try it since your already that far into it.

i haven't seen anyu port work done on a 2.3 liter intake, i thought about doing it just to try something. But i feel it would be wasted time. I had bought a bottle hone, kinda like a cylinder hone but smaller. To put on a drill, and shove it down throught the ports, and see how much i could eat away at it.

If i was to over port one of the runners, and there was a hole between two of them, would that affect the airflow any?

That's a cool view of a part of our stangs that most will never see. I've always wondered just what it looked like. I like stuff like this, sorta like a behind the scenes look. Thanks for taking the time to post.

no problem man i was wondering about this a long time. i am approx 60 miles from panhandle performance in panama city florida, and i would like to try and port it and get it flowed, just to see if i can get anything dexcent outta it. Crooked cut, but i can weld it back afterward. I am gonna have my t-moss lower welded on the rest of the ports instead of the front two, and add more to those two, and see what i can port it out to be. I think this is a good way for me to try and port something seeing as i have not done it before.

p.s. i was looking at a friends intake today, and the bolt in the upper of the edelbrock looks like a real pain, how bad is it to remove the upper if needed. I am also curious to see if anyone thinks i can get away with an RPM intake with the 4.10's in the car, and still undecided on the heads. Still may try the P's what intake would be best for them?????

RPM intake is only useful when you have heads that will flow similar #s up top and actually make power at high RPMs.

With P heads, I would run the regular performer.

it will return to one piece down the road.

i am soaking it in degreaser overnight so i can get a better look tomm.
