Yeah, so I have this annoying rattle coming from one of my cats, pretty much meaning its crap. I was actually contemplating cutting em' all off. Yeah, I know mega illegal, etc...and the unit costs like 2200 from ford. I don't have to worry about emissions around here, least not yet. So per say if I were to cut the cats off, would it be worth it...?

i would just buy an offroad h-pipe or x-pipe.. although if you cut the cats off and have pipe welded in yes you'll have better performance.. but you'll still have a 2.25" h-pipe

Get a modular X pipe, so that you cna go O/R most of the time and catted when you needto pass emissions etc.

If you removed the factory cats, you'd see some HP increase despite the 2.25 pipe diameter; your still removing a restriction. Better options:
1.) Buy a off-road X/H pipe, and gut the bad cat out of your stock H. That way, you still have a pipe to pass smog with.
2.) Look in the classifieds. Plenty of factory H pipes can be found for cheap.
3.) Buy a catted X/H pipe and be done with it. Except to pay around $400 though.
