Cutting stock springs, suggestions?

Is it possible to cut half a coil to maybe a full coil for a slight drop, only looking to drop the car an inch or so, thanks

yes its possible, i cut them on my 03 to see how low i want it, so i could choose the right springs, ended up keeping them because it didnt ride that bad like everyone says, my buddys 04 rides like crap using ebich sportlines, i used a cut off wheel, measure from the tip of the top first coil and measure down until you see the right amount you wish to cut. just my two cents

Good deal, I didnt know how these springs reacted to cuts, I know years ago when I was into lowered trucks, one coil was cool, but anything past that seemed to kill the ride

And, you did that cut for what car? It sure as heck wasn't for a Mustang.
Then again, "measure down until you see the right amount you wish to cut" is ambiguous advice at best. And, it's also incorrect for a coil spring.

As far as I know, there are only 2 places that state the correct way to cut a spring. Also, along with the correct way to get a "close estimate" of the amount of drop.

I've done it before and have actually seen it promoted in a major magazine if you are doing it for looks. I cut the springs with a sawzall and a carbide blade. It worked well and looked great.
