i know a diesel mech. that had a really bad cylinder so he bored the cylinder enough so that a sleeve would fit in snug. then he bored the sleeve to the stock std. size for a new std. piston would fit in it. believe it or not, it ran top notch and is still going. i was wondering, since i have a .060 block and if i ever need to redo the motor again, can i just resleeve it. i was looking in MM&FF and i saw something about engine sleeves and it gave me the idea. would this make my engine run cooler again. if i do this i would get forged slugs and throw a turbo and nos on it with ARP rod bolts and a main cap girdle. i would also have ARP head studs and adj. roller rockers. with hopefully a good set of aluminum heads.

I've only heard above sleeves in an aluminum block, not in an iron one. You can find an iron block easily if you look hard enough. It also helps to know people. I think it'd be cheaper, and more reliable if you just found another stock block.

You can do that. But for the price it would cost do all of that, youd be much better off finding a better block.
