Just wondering how hard it would be to damage (i'm thinking cracking) a chromed aluminum rim (cobra r) by hammering a socket onto a locking lug nut? I had new tires installed a week or 2 ago. went to change my quad shocks yesterday, and realized they didn't return my key. apparently they lost it. so they gave me a new set of locking lugz, but they beat a socket onto the original 4 pretty hard. It took them over an hour to get them off. just wondering if i should be worried about damage to my rims???

Nah. Been there, done that on three different cars. As long as they didn't slip when swinging the hammer and mar the finish at all, I'd say you're pretty safe.

Nothing to worry about, if they can take a hammer in that area i think a pot hole would shatter it
