I pulled the tarp off my 67 to start work on it, and about 20 wasps flew out to greet me.

seems like the forgot the smack down that I gave them last year. I own the darn car. I paid for it and have the title, now I just need them to realize it.

I just have to remember to not use the portable propane blow torch on thier raid soaked nest when there is no water around.

Are these the dangling leg types or those big black and white rascals that build the big egg shaped paper nests ? Here in NC, in the "Hornets Nest" region as its called, I think they arose from some mutated strain of backwater delinquent hornets. Theyll chase you. Hordes of them. When they catch you theyll poke more holes in you than Tupac at a stoplight. When I was a kid, I was climbing a tree, one (thank GOD it was only one) got on my hand and started walking.. And stinging.. I couldnt let go, so he nailed me about 4 times before I could grab another branch and escape. I came back madder than , well, a hornet :rlaugh: . Except I had 2 cans of Hornet killer. I only smoked 2, there were more (it was a fig tree, and they were getting lunch.) but in reality I just wanted to look at one. I kept the 2 little hornet carcasses for a few weeks. If you ever get a chance to see a dead hornet, the black and white kind that look "armored", they are truly fascinating. Beautiful in every way. In retrospect I regret killing those 2 ,I was in their lunch tree. But hey, I was a kid.
