I've been hunting down wiring gremlins in my dash lights this weekend and I've come a long way to say the least. I have no power to any dash lights.... I've got power from the headlight switch to the dimmer switch. I've tested the dimmer switch and I have good power there... So replacing the dimmer switch isn't the problem. I can feed power to the old radio wire and all my dash lights will work. Is there a fusible link somewhere in harness? Where is it and does anyone have a diagram that shows the dash wiring? Already looked at the autozone diagrams and nothing covers dash lights that I saw. If all else fails I'll run a new wire over to the radio wire from the dimmer switch. Thanks in advance!!

Larry

I know which fuse it is...(thanks for the info tho) but I need to find out where the wiring goes from the dimmer switch out. Does it go through the fuse block before or after the dimmer switch?

Instrument Panel connector c250 is a gray 14 pin
c251 is a brown 14 pin
Both go to the instrument panel.

It ended up being a wire shorted out down by the radio. I sealed the open wire and replaced the fuses and haven't had a problem since.

nice work finding it. seems to be a common issue. if you see a thread by Killerrobot maybe fill him in on the wire color for the illumination wire. i had posted that it was (per my vague memory) orange or orange/white, but i reallized that is probably the color on my harness adapter. if he does not have those, i dont know what the oem color is for the illumination wire.

BTW, what happened here. are we starting over (i.e. all old threads were lost)? no page 2. LOL.
