Dead Cruise Control

Cruise Control is dead in the 94.

Fuses are good... cable is connected.

What else can it be??? I just pulled the inner fender lining and everything looks ok underneath there. Not much you can do with the cruise control unit.

Is it a bad unit????

First of all. Try to check all of the connections under the dash. There are various connections to the brake pedal and clutch. I dont know what the clutch one looks like but the one on the brake is a plastic arm that connacts to the brake pedel arm. When disconnect it will not allow the cruise control to work. I have kicked it off the connector many of times. Plus, make sure you arn't resting your foot on the clutch too because that will cause this problem. Plus try and check if the On button is getting power if you can. Take off the button cover, check if there's voltage going to the button.

I dont know if any of this helps. Post up if you still cant figure it out.

My stang does the same thing one time itdid work though and i was on the highway. The bad thing is it stuck and i had to pull over and shut her down go under the hood and reset the throttle cableing never tried to use it again

Wasnt aware of a connector on the brake pedal.
The 94 is an Auto btw... SexyStang94's car... trying to take care of a few things while she is in Alaska.

I'll pop off the cover on the switch if I dont see anything wrong down below....

Mine went dead once....after 3 days at the Ford garage, while it was still under warranty, they found a relay up inside that inner fender that was bad...changed it...cruise was back....they also tryed to smack me with a 300.00 bill for the 3 day search to find it.... No dice...

Good luck...hopefully its a simple fix.....

I think I know which one you are talking about.... i'll try swappin it out.

now if I can only get my damn headlights adjusted... grrrrr.

I just pulled the housing out to get a good look at it... whole damn thing is cracked. Looks like its time for a new one.

Aha... JB Weld to the rescue...

The peice that bolts to the CC cable to the unit was busted... which was keeping it from working correctly. JB Welded it up... and cruise works now.
