I went out to start my 99 Cobra the other day and the baby just cranked and cranked but did not start. Here's what I have done so far:
Engine spins. No DLCs
I checked for fuel and spark. Got Fuel, No spark
I pulled the Vortech chip, still no start
I checked the IAC, good,
I checked the MAF, good
I checked the Crank Trigger sensor Good
Cam Sensor good
Fuel reset fine,
All fuses checked good: in Engine Compartment and under dash (driver's side) are there any others???
Wiring appears good.

Any help???

Here are my mods:
BBK TB, Vortech S-Trim w/procharger cooler, Magnaflow, JBAs 4.10s, plasma boost.

I am just sick of my baby sitting in the driveway...

Is the theft light flashing when you turn the key to the start position? Perhaps the PATS system has been activated...

I'll have to check that. If the Theft light is blinking when the key is in the on position means that PATS has been activated??

How does one de activate the PATS???
I'll have to wait 'til I gethome to find out.
Thanks.

Try just disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes or so...

Apparently its disabled by putting in your coded key, switching it to the ON position, not the start position, the theft light should come on for 3 secs then go out.

Finally home. I just checked the theft light. It is blinking when the car is off. When I turn the key to on (not start) the light stays solid for about 2-3 seconds and turns off. The car still will not start.

Any ideas?

I thought the car was turning over just not catching right? That would eliminate PATS

So, if PATS was the problem it wouldn't even crank??? Well then it's not PATS...
Thanks

The engine will still crank over but not fire when the PATS activates. Just for sheits and giggles check your PATS key at the top of it. On the earlier Ford keys, the transmitter was placed in the top corner of the key with a small cap that was glued on to cover it. Alot of these earlier keys, they would fall off and the transmitter fell out. We sold alot of replacement keys until Ford had it molded/fused inside the key. You might also try your other key (if you have two). Sometimes the keys will lose their memory code. Just something that may help you before having to tow to the dealer.

Thanks for the input. Unfortunately, I have tried both keys. they appear to be intact and they do not start the vehicle. I'm still looking.
If it is a PATS problem how does one get by that to start the vehicle???

Try the K I C K method. Step outside you car and kick it in its hind end! LOL - I think there is a computer reset that the dealer has.

I guess it's a call to the dealer...
Thanks again. I'll let you all know what happens if I figure it out. .
