i run close to the same combo. i have a 393 stroker. 75mm throttle body, proM 80mm maf, 36lb injectors. i don't see a problem with the axles and would love to thave the trans you are looking at. i do think that throttle body is a little on the large side for na. not really sure on the injectors i was running 42's and they were way to rich, car made more power on 36 and was more user friendly(thanks ed). i dont know if the 408 needs that much fuel than a 393. has for headers i use kooks custom headers 1 7/8 primary. they were recommended over the smaller mac headers and im sure the 408 will need larger than a 1 3/4 primary also. has for the intake everyone has a preference i use the edelbrock victor and also run the msd billet dist. but the block i think is major overkill. i found my block in a van at the junkyard paid 100 bucks for the motor. brought a new crank and rods for about 1000 and was on my way. i think the stud girdle is overkill also it all looks nice but the 351 is a much beefier block than the 302. take the stud girdle money and buy a tubular k member to lighten up the front some and improve handling thats what i did. good combo though i was going to build the same motor but my machinist just enforced the rod angle was getting a little on the hairy side. but thats a great block expensive and unnecessary for what your doing. but if you have the money just buy the aluminum version of the motor so if anything ever goes and comes through the block it can be repaired.
