I Hate you and your parts. Finally found the source of my annoying start up squeel from my previous post. Turns out the one thing i thought it couldnt be, it was. Just replaced 2 times in the last two months is the alternator. And now needs to be replaced again. Why are parts from pepboys so craptastic? Same thing happened to my brother a while back, went through 5 in a week before they got him one that worked, and these are "new" parts.

To make matters worse it is on a vortech supercharged setup, which means disconnect 10 or so bolts instead of the normal two or three. Where can I source a reliable new sn95 alt. so i cna use this one as a brick?

I think im done with franchise parts, I remember hearing good things a while back about PA performance so ill check them out. Till then bump for a quality company at a not so ridiculous price.

ye PA performance! 9 years later and my 3g still works great. I sent my friend to them and his shorted out, but they sent him a new one after a year free of charge. Kind of brash service department, but they aren't selling cupcakes.

My PA went out after about a year. Never sent it back due to shipping cost - just went to O'Rielly's and got a new one with a lifetime waranty that has been on there for 5 years - cost to drive to O'Rielly's is much cheaper.

I have one PA on both cars. Love them! One for a year now and the other for around 5 years.

+1.

Paying shipping and then waiting for the return part is a hassle I can do without. I would rather buy one with a lifetime warranty from a local auto part chain store and get a quick exchange if it is needed.
