If anyone knew of Dimbag Darrell of Pantera fame, he was shot and killed while performing at a Damageplan (new band he was in) concert.

Five people in total died plus the shooter.

That's a real shame. As a rookie guitarist (ie-I suck) Dimebag Darrell was/is a great inspiration. I always though his guitars looked cooler than most too! RIP...

Vulgar Display of Power was a popular album in high school. I saw the band Down featuring some of the members from Pantera, it was pretty cool. Yeah those definetly kicked ass when it came to rockin out. Sad to hear about the news, and to think how crazy that would be to see a rock band member get shot and killed at a live show.

I heard of Pantera through my son, who plays lead guitar in a local heavy metal band. Only goes to show that living life today is important as you never know what's going to happen tomorrow. What a shame.

Saw them as Pantera in the mid 90's with Type O negative. One of the best bands I've seen live.

RIP Darrell, Peace to his brother Vinnie who watched him get gunned down.
