I capped off the holes behind both heads (PITA). now I have two vacuum lines from the system left open. you know, the lines that crack if you just look at them. I traced where they go back to what appears to be a distribution block behind the passenger shock tower. my question is how did you guys plug these? any photos would be great although I know it is hard to get a pic of that area. I dont know if they disconnect from the block and can be plugged in the block somehow. thanks
Jon

You can by a whole package of little rubber caps that fit on those lines for a couple bucks at the parts store.

They are the TAB solenoids, if your deleting all the emissions you can remove them, if nout you can plug them by removing the rubber ends that are on those connectors. If your deleted the smog pump and others you may not even have the vac line feeding them anymore....

Do you still have EGR or did you delete that as well? If you deleted it also then like Rick said just rip it all out. There is a vaccum line that comes from the upper intake then splits into two lines running over to the passenger side strut tower to feed all of the emmisions. If you are deleting EGR as well as the thermactor system then you can disconnect that line at the upper intake (making sure to put a cap on the port so you don't have a vaccum leak) then just remove all of that stuff from the strut tower.

I have had peoples say leave the egr or it will cause problems with codes and what not. is this not true? as long as it runs correctly and accepts mods then I dont care. but if it will interfere with the performance of the engine then I will leave it in. I see the two lines and for now I am just going to cap those off and worry about the egr later. i still have the smog pump in the car (bypassed though).

Yes it will throw a code, but it shouldn't cause any driveability problems. Mine is an '87 so I don't have a CE light to worry about. I assume you don't either on your 88.
