Desperate for 12's, Eaton, axles, LCA's all on

Finally got the rear end done after 6 months of one wheel driving.

-Eaton Posi differential
-31 spline Moser axles
-Ford Racing differential cover (laser etched with Ford Racing, not SVO)
-X2C Lower control arms

Just finished the control arms a couple hours ago. Taking the stock 170,000 mile bolt out of the stock 170,000 mile bushing was such a treat. One thing that I didn't learn on the internet is that these LCA's would make my car sit COMPLETELY different. The car sits about an inch higher because of the geomotry of the arm. I also put on new spring isolators, they might crunch down a quarter of an inch if anything. The car visible looks different, even my wife noticed. Anyone else experience this?

So, with close to $1000 spent on traction, I'm hoping to dip into the 12's next weekend for the local strips closing day. I also bought new plug wires and an air filter, double checked the timing. I'm hoping my stock clutch and T5 can hold together for just a few more passes. If I don't get into the 12's one of the following things will happen:

-I'll spend the whole winter hibernating in a closet with a keg of beer.
-I'll buy a shotgun and rob a local Ford dealer for an 04 Cobra
-Cash in my 401K and get a 393 stroker

LCA's lowered your car a whole inch? I've never heard of that either, doesnt sound too good since our cars are already like 3829423847 inches too high.

The working posi should be all you need to get there. Your 60's should drop to around 1.8's now. Dont cash in your 401k or your annuity or your pension, learn to drive Go out to an open road and heat up the drag radials and practice. I also suggest some more timing. I dont see any reason you can't trap 110+. I did 109 untuned/lean and I feel my car has a 112 in it but we dont have a track anymore. Im about to order a Vortech SQ trim so who knows what it would have done n/a

Chad, you can vary the rear ride height by ~5/8" just by "clocking" the spring. I forget now which is the low and which is the high side... I know yeahloh95 knows. Did you install the springs just like they came out? If you turned them this is definitely why your ride height is different.

LCA's make a big change in the way these cars hook. I think you'll see that in your 60 ft times and hopefully in you 1/4 times.

As for the ride height...I had that happen on my 88 LX. The stock bushings had actually sagged a little I think and let the car settle around them. So the new arms raised the car a bit. Also the ride height can change depending on how the springs are installed as mentioned earlier.

I didn't know this. Since the rear springs looked flat on both sides I just put them back in. I just measured up my new and old LCA's, the X2C version has a higher perch mount for the spring by about 1/2". The rear sway bar also sits at least 1.5 inches lower, wich isn't a big deal. Man does this car hook though, no more axle hop, I should have done this sooner.

US 41 runs all winter on sundays as long as it's dry and above around 35 degrees out.

Hey...that's where I race! Cool.

BTW...I actually lined up against Shane97Cobra at the MSC Event back in May. I think I ran a 12.9 to his 12.4 or something...very similar MPH's. I didn't know it was him until later though.

And FYI...US41 is coming down a little tougher on tech. No more sub 10-second convertibles with top-down and no helmets For real though...I think they're going for their IHRA Certification again..at least that's what I"ve been hearing. Make sure you have a helmet and if they ask you about antifreeze, tell them its straight water and/or water-wetter.
