I have to say that of all the mods I have done to my car (what HAVEN'T I done?!), this is the mod I had agonized over the most. Locker or True-Trac? I thought long and hard about this for well over a year before deciding to take the jump to a locker. They will be installed on Oct. 21 but wont' get put through the paces until after the car emerges from winter hibernation. I hope that I made the right decision. If I go flying off a cliff in the Alps after power-sliding through a tight curve, then we will know that my decision was not the best one for me.

I just had my battery moved to the trunk over the weekend. I did this only because I needed the space to put a recirculating catch tank. Also, the open tracker roller spring perches went on too. I give them two thumbs up.

Great choice Jerry!
I just recently put a Detroit in my Mustang and love it. It behaves perfectly civil behind the automatic. I have had one for years in my daily driver (Jeep) and it took a while to get used to it behind the 5 speed.
I hesitated a while putting one in my Mustang. But if you spend some time at the track, it is about the strongest and most durable locker out there. :nice:

Yea, I second that for your car you made a great choice. Since my car is just now back on the road I can tell the differents but it seems to be makiing just WAY to much noise so I am thinking about tearing into it tonight to see whats up? If you guys with a D. locker can give me an idea of the ammount of noise I would appreciate it greatly...I hate to tear it down for nothing.

I have a Silent Locker that makes NO noise. Coming hard onto the pedal out of a corner after braking it will 'klonk' as it engages of course. Nothing really loud though. Backing out of a parking spot it goes tick-tick-tick quietly.
I have a TrueTrac on the shelf for the winter lay-up. Powersliding is FUN but I'm thinking I'll get better lap times with the Thorsen-style diff. It goes on together with '04 Cobra R brakes all around. :)
