so at 80mph im pushin around 2600 2700 rpm.. so before i decide to instal my 4 10s im curious to find what gear ratio i have... so i jacked up my car on the rear and marked the differential with white chalk and then i spun the wheel 1 full time and had my friend count how many times the differential turned for 1 full swing of the tire. It did almost 3 1/2 turns on the differential for one full turn on the rim. Does anyone have any idea of what kind of gears it is with almost a 3 1/2 turns???!?!? someone tell me somethin good here... hopefully 3 73's

anyone??

thanks in advance!

Im sorry to sound like a dick but this is the stupidest thread i have read in a long time.

Turn the wheel 1 time and get 1 rotation of the drive shaft you have 1:1 gears

Turn the wheel 1 time and get 3.5 rotations of the drive shaft you have 3.5:1 gears.

Just over 4 revolutions of the drive shaft to one revolution of the wheels? 4.10's!!!

Almost 3.5 turns sounds like it could be 3.27 gears. Was it a just over 3.5 turns or less than 3.5 turns?

If its an auto, doesn't that mean that you would also have a chip to correct the speedo and shift points if the gears were changed? Im gonna say 3.27's

Not necessarily - someone could have used a Hypertech or other computer to correct the speedo. However, I'm going to vote for 3.27s since those are what come stock.

I believe autos came with 3.55s, while the sticks came with 3.27s.
