i didn't think that they started putting the 3.55's in auts's until 04. before then it was either 2.73 or 3.27 in sn-95 stangs

Nope, 3.27s is what came with mine. I don't know about the '04 models, but 99-03 autos came with 3.27s.

You have 3.27s and NO sn95 stang, I dont care what anyone tells you, NEVER came with 3.55s stock.

Repeat you have 3.27s, you are pushing the same rpms that my stick 96 gt had when it had the stock 3.27s in there. Most autos that I know of in the sn95 usually had the 2.73s so I guess you are lucky in that aspect

Did I mention you have 3.27s?

Im sure they do, I said the sn95's didnt. By sn95 im refering to the 94-98 body style, correct me if im wrong ive just always called them that after someone corrected me once

I think the Mach 1's have 3.55s as well. Anyhow, youre right and im right so carry on

Ok, thanks for pointing that out... wasnt aware of that, no need to laugh tho.

Anyhow, my entire point was that someone said the car came STOCK with 3.55s and thats simply not true, so I was assuming he still had the 3.27s. Oh well, ive been wrong before

Neither did I until I found it in the shop manual for the 98 and verified that the manufacturing sticker in the driver's side door well showed R as the axle code, which the shop manual says is a 3.45. It was driving me crazy because I always assumed I had 3.27, but I did some math after a couple of other posts and found that I didn't have 3.27 or 3.73. My first assumption again was that I had 3.55 but the math wasn't quite right. I double checked against my dyno runs that had revolutions/mile and that calculated out to exactly 3.45 so now I believe it...

I'll take the pictures tomorrow. PM me and I'll email them to you. To post it here I would have to shrink it down so far I'm sure it wouldn't be legible.

Assuming you have 17" rims, you should be around 80 at 2700-2800 RPMs in 3.27s. The RPMs would be a couple hundred higher in 3.73s.

Sorry dude, based on my math, you have 3.27s.

Why does it matter if you're changing them anyway?
