I have 13k on my 03 cobra, and I'm hearing a tweetering noise coming from the tranny. I'll do 20mph and hear the noise, then I'll press the clutch pedal down about a 1/2in and the tweetering would stop. I did install a Steeda tri-ax shifter a while back. Would this cause the problem or void my warrenty?

No the shifter didn't cause it and it technically should not void the warranty. But I wouldn't give the dealership or ford any excuse to try and void it. I would put the stock parts back on before you bring it in for service.

"the best part about my cobra is when i break something, i pull the pulley off, put the factory airfilter back in, dump the stock program in, and go back to the dealership."

room temperature vulcanizing silicone. it means that it hardens at room temp instead of having to apply heat to it. its what most, if not all automotive silicone is.

I would bet money that it's the throw out bearing in the tranny, and the shifter would have nothing to do with this. There is a service bulletin for it. Best thing to is to call anonymously and ask the service advisor if your shifter would render that repair under waranatee or not.

I'm with Friedchicken on this one. Replace the shifter with the stock one and take your car in to the dealer. Tell them you want the car checked to see if it meets the repair requirements outlined in SSM 04-13-4. (TOB Service Message)

Not that I'm aware of... Unless of course you have access to the OASIS system!

The shifter isn't causing you problem, definately sounds like your TOB is bad. Just a shifter shouldn't cause them to void your warranty. I took mine in for the T-3650 trans bulletin and never took any of my stuff off. It helps to know someone at a dealer though.

www.alldata.com gives a good overview of available TSBs for each car model.

Key word there is overview, right? To actually see the nut's & bolts of the TSB (SSM) you have to subscribe (a.k.a. Pay $$) to see the text. Right?
