Did The 5.0 Explorer And Early 4.6 Use The Same Engine Management System?

My only real concern is the cam shaft position sender. Is the signal the same between the 1998 5.0 and 1998 4.6. If they are different can an Explorer computer be plugged into a early 4.6 engine wire harness. A site makes it look like the use the same harness or very close.

if you give me a specific year/model for the 4.6 i can tell you if they are the same sensor type

lets say 1998 for the 4.6 and the explorer to keep things simple. If they have the same pinout I would use 5.0 explorer computer and 4.6 wire harness. Someone got this working but thew did not post some of the needed information. If I get this working I will create a how to so others can learn from my mistakes.
