Didn't attend the NEBOC cruise, but I did do something cool. Airshow Pics Inside!

Here's some of the better shots I snagged today. I went to the Rhode Island Air National Guard airshow at Quonset Point, in Kingstown RI. It was a great show, I go every year and this one was one of the best. If anyone likes what they see, it's also being held tomorrow, with a special flyby with the B-2 Stealth Bomber. The airforce Thunderbirds headline, and the RI ANG does a great combined arms demo, basically they lay seige to the airbase and blow stuff up. Also, there are great static displays, including Greg Biffle's Nextel Cup Ford Taurus, some big jets, and some other cool stuff. Also, there's one really bad ass special event. There's a Mack truck powered by 3 jet engines that does drag runs down the runway at 325 MPH. It's intense. Here's the pictures.

Sunday 6/20 we were headed towards the Air Show on my fathers boat 30' cabin cruiser ya know nothing small. We saw that stealth bomber fly right above us and it hovered for a bit and I swear I couldn't hear a damn peep from it. However when they did the F16 flyby when we were moored near the base the thing flew maybe 100feet above us and god damn was that loud!!! I think that ranks up there as my number 2 favorite sound in the world, whats number 1? idk I drive a stang so guess lol. just throwin in a recount of the day. Anyone else got any cool stories about it or is anyone else on boats out in the bay? maybe we could meet up i'm on the Morning Love out of Apponaug, RI if anyone is interested let me know

Whats up with all the smoke in the background with the Blackhawk and Spectre gun ship pics?? My friend was working there with the A-10's from MA.

Heh, today was even better. Better wether and the stealth. The smoke is part of the display, they do pyrotechnics that simulate the A-10s doing attack runs. Tell your buddy he did a kick ass job!

The cruise had a few run ins with the airshow while on the road.

--> C130's flew by us when going over the Newport Bridge

--> A-10 Warthog's did a pass over fort adams..

--> Saw some high speed aircraft (f-16 ??) leaving smoke trails and loops over the bay while cruising Colts Park along the water..

So all in all we got a taste of the show through out the bay area over the day long trip

How about that reverse wheelie the C-17 did after that amazing short landing???? Must've raised the front tires 20 feet off the ground!!
