Differences in Blocks?

Okay I would like to know what is the difference in the strength between a 1969 302 block. And a 87-93 302 block. Yes I know the 1969 block is non-roller. As far as Hp ratings can the 1969 block take more abuse?

Is $150 a good deal on a 1969 block?

Depends on what you want to do.

The 69 block is not made for hydraulic lifter's IIRC. You'd have to do machining and retrofit lifters (EXPENSIVE) if you want to use a hydraulic roller cam...otherwise you could use a solid lifter cam.


That is a good price for the block...depending on its condition. Check the bore size. If it is over 4.030 I wouldnt mess with it.
