I am planning on putting in a new head unit. Is there anything I should be concerned with before installing? Will it just be plug and play or will there be to much extra crap to buy to make it work? Besides wiring harness and installation kit to fit the oversized double DIN hole?

If you get the proper wiring harness- no problemo. Get a double DIN unit, though. They look a LOT better than the single+pocket. I like the Kenwood 7015, but $$$$$$$$$BLINGBLINGCHING$$$$

Anyone have a pic of what the one with the pocket looks like? I was possible going to buy a regular sized head unit and maybe buy and equilizer to go under it if they will fit that way. I thought that would look great?

Parked my other car on the street the other night and it got broken into. I'm keeping this stang nice and stock-looking until I'm more confident in my neighborhood.

I agree on no pocket. Can't even put anything in that pocket without it falling out when you floor it. I think if you fill it up with something (equalizer, dvd player, etc.), it'll look fine. But I love the way the stock unit looks, myself.

If it were me, I'd run a passive equalizer in the second space. Upgrade the whole system and run two amps for the mids and highs. Beyond that, yank the ****ty Shaker (if you have it) subs and amp and replace 'em with an MTX and a decent 10" sub.

What's a good passive equilizer. I wanted to put one in along with a regular sized headunit for looks mainly for now. Crutchfield only offers 3 and only 1 is decent . Can you make any suggestions as to were I can get a good one that also looks good?
