Dimmer switch wire?

I installed an autometer f/p gauge works &looks great.I need to find the power wire from the dimmer switch to hook up the light so it will dim with the rest of the dash lights.Anyone know what color and location?I was thinking maybe the one going into the back of the stereo would be easiest to get to.Any help appreciated.Thanks Troy

You can wire it to the fuse panel. I believe it's fuse #37, but you may want to double check your owner's manual.

You need to get a digital multimeter and simply find it yourself. I have mine hooked to that wire, but I wouldn't want you cutting up your harness based on a color combo that may change from year to year.

Spend the $15 for a Radio Shack model voltmeter and be sure that way.

I have a meter.I just wanted an idea where the wire randown and possible color to check for.I was just looking for a short cut to the wire.Thanks though
