Mine did the same thing about a month ago. I went ahead and spent the $$$ for the MSD one. Nice unit. Mine was $279 shipped from Summit. I would say with what it looks like you've already got in your engine, i'd spend the extra coin in this case.
strange...is it just me or is the factory ford unit a peice of crap??? At any one time I can find at least 4 guys on here that have crapped out distributors...and I went though the same problem a month before I came on tour..
Yo Red thanks for the pointer on Summit. I was going to pay 140.00 for a remanufatured part but for 120.00 bucks more i can get a pretty good MSD... Oh and Xr8d302 i guess the stock ones only last like 100kmiles.. My buddy is a ford tech and he has experience of them going out..
